Things before Factory reset you need to do?

1. Backup your Data

Before getting enter to factory reset you have to know that factory reset will delete all your entire partition data that stored in your PC. Taking backup of your all-important data is necessary because you don’t want to lose those files. After factory reset again you will find the need to get access to those data back. For taking backup of your all files easily you can use an external drive. And after refreshment, you can back access to your old files, or even you can move those stuffs back to internal drive. There is another best option that you can move your important files to iCloud, or Google Drive, or MediaFire. Those platforms allow you to sync your data back to your desktop.

2. Sing Out iCloud, iTunes, and iMessage before Factory Reset

The recommended option before the factory is to sign out from iCloud, iTunes, and iMessage. Whether you are using MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, or Mac Mini you have to reauthorize those apps to make your factory process better and easy.

To reauthorize the iTunes account on Mac PC, over ahead an open iTunes, then go to Account>Authorization>De-Authorize there select the option of de-authorization this PC.

Connect to the Internet then enter the Recovery Mode

To enter the recovery firstly be sure that your Mac computer is connected to the internet. After that, for entering the recovery mode restart your computer, then press the “Command” key + “R” to enter the utility window. Here the macOS Utilities window comes,  press the “Wifi” icon then connect it.

Now in the macOS Utilities there you will see 4 options, from those options, select the “Disk Utility”. Disk Utility will do the work erasing the partition and allows us to reinstall the operating system again.

After entering the Disk Utility window, there you will see the list of drives that you want to erase then reinstall the operating system again. So, from left-handed select the drive which already the macOS operating system installed. After that click on the erase button, then follow the below down partition options.

  1. Name is optional
  2. Format should be APFS
  3. Scheme GUID Partition Map
  4. At last, when you have select the above options click on the Erase button.
  5. Erasing depends on your partition drive that how much data you have there, and the process time of erasing will be according to your data.

Once the drive successfully erased via the macOS Utilities window option. Overhead your mouse cursor to the closing point of the “Disk Utility” window and close that. Again from the macOS Utilities window select the “Reinstall macOS” option. Once you selected the “Reinstall macOS” option click continue, on the next screen select the formatted drive and click install macOS. The installation process may take some time, indeed it will completely take the time that you are installing the operating system offline via the USB drive.
